Gleacher & Co. added a new managing director to Gleacher & Company Securities, its broker dealer subsidiary.
Brian Waltman joined the firm’s New York City headquarters, where he will work within firm’s fixed income business, the investment bank said.Waltman was most recently with MF Global, which he joined this past April after serving as director of U.S. government sales at UBS. Prior to UBS, he senior vice president of New York sales with HSBC. He began his career at Mabon Securities as an institutional fixed income account executive.
Gleacher CEO Thomas Hughes said in a statement that Waltman will further enhance the firm’s trading operations and expand its client base.
Robert Fine, who heads the firm's MBS, ABS and rates division said that the appointment is part of the firm’s ongoing expansion in its sales and trading division.
