Former ASF Executive Director Miller Launches New Consultancy Firm

George Miller, former executive director of the American Securitization Forum (ASF), has established his own consultancy and advisory firm, Auspex LLC.

He said that the move, broadly speaking, levers his background in the securitization industry with a network of contacts. Miller said that as part of his new role, he plans to engage in discreet assignments and consult for individual firms on strategic business issues and policy. He is currently working with two clients.

He said he would also assist businesses in their relationship with regulators, principally catering to financial institutions, investors and issuers.

“My feeling is that the market is so fluid and filled with changes," he said."While there is significant opportunity, there are stresses and uncertainties making it difficult to navigate through this environment.”
The new firm will be based in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York.

Although Auspex has different connotations, Miller chose this word to name his new company because one of its meanings is to visualize the future. "It applies well to someone who would like to offer advice," he said.

Miller left his position as executive director of the ASF on Dec. 16 after being in this role since 2004. His former Deputy Executive Director Tom Deutsch, who also joined ASF the same year as Miller did, took over and was elected executive director of the ASF in January.
