Deutsche Snags Trio For Investment Group

Deutsche Bank Securities bulked up its investment solutions group - within the global capital markets division - last week with the addition of three new hires.

Phil Li joins as a director with a focus on securitizing nontraditional risks. Previously, Li was with ABN AMRO, where he worked as the head of structuring analytics in the asset backed securities and CDO origination group.

Robert Painter joins as vice president, structuring investment products and hedging instruments for insurance companies. He joins from Conning Asset Management, a subsidiary of Swiss Re, where he was asset-liability management advisor, developing investment strategies from insurance asset management clients.

And Guillermo MacLean also joins as a vice president, with a focus on developing new investment content, such as customized, investable indices for both institutional and retail clients. Previously he was a senior research analyst at Sanford Bernstein and a corporate development strategist at Putnam Investments.

Li and Painter will report to Keith Cunningham, director, and MacLean will report to Markus Barth, director. They will be based in New York.
