Deutsche Bank further expands CMO team

Deutsche Bank Securities said today that John Critelli joined the firm as a director and senior structurer in the agency collateralized mortgage obligation (CMO) group. This is part of the continuing expansion of Deutsche Bank's U.S. residential mortgage group.

Critelli was formerly from Merrill Lynch, where he was in a similar position in Agency CMO structuring and trading since 2001. Prior to Merrill, he was at PaineWebber for more than six years trading passthrough MBS and structuring and trading Agency CMOs. He will report to Nicholas Letica, who joined Deutsche Bank in March as a managing director and head of agency CMO trading.

Over the past year Deutsche has been strategically adding to its US residential mortgage group, which is led by Fred Brettschneider, who is global head of securitized products trading as well as Jon Kinol, who is head of fixed income derivatives. Aside from Letica, key hires hav been G. Nicholas "Trip" Mestanas, Head of Agency MBS Trading; Dan Levene, Senior MBS Trader; Felix Partow, Senior MBS Derivatives trader; Eric Londa, Head of Whole-Loan CMO Trading; and Charles Smart, Senior CMO Trader.
