Dechert LLP is adding new partner Matthew Hays to its global finance practice, with a focus on asset-backed securitization practice in the firm’s Chicago office.
Hays was previously a partner at Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago, and brings experience with structured finance transactions, warehouse facilities, asset sale transactions and private placements, according to Dechert.
He has also been prominent in marketplace lending,
Hays has also represented clients in the automotive finance, banking, technology and financial services sectors.
Hays joins a structured finance team that advised on 30 deals totaling $20 billion. He is the second major addition to the team since the hiring of Bruce Bloomingdale in the company’s New York office last year, according to the firm. Bloomingdale was hired from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP.
