CVC Credit Hires for U.S., Europe

CLO manager CVC Credit Partners has added four new professionals, a spokeswoman confirmed. Three new professionals were added to its European team and a new managing director was added to its U.S. team.

Mitchell Glynn, Lucie Bonnieux and Ran Landmann have joined CVC’s European group and Caroline Benton has joined its U.S. operations.

Landmann was hired as a managing director for the European team and will begin there Sept. 2. He had previously covered European distressed credits for New York-based Owl Creek European Management. Prior to that he was on the European team of distressed credit hedge fund Sandell Asset Management.

Bonnieux is an analyst on the European team of CVC. He was most recently a leveraged finance analyst with Societe Generale. She previously worked as an intern with BNP Paribas.

Glynn joined CVC as an investment professional and was most recently an associate research credit analyst with Neuberger Berman. Prior to that he was an intern at LightPoint Capital Management.
Benton joined CVC’s U.S. group in New York as a managing director. She was previously with Goldman Sachs, where she focused on risk management in special assets, global loan distressed investing and special situations investment groups.

In April the firm hired Stuart Levett and Julia Agafonova. Levett joined as a managing director focused on CVC’s European trading activity and Agafonova joined as a director of fund administration. She will also be heading up the European operations team. CVC Credit Partners manages $9.6 billion in assets via 32 investment vehicles in both Europe and the U.S. It recently closed on a €10.5 billion private equity fund, CVC Capital Partners VI, which focuses on private equity investments in Europe and the U.S.

Barclays Hires CLO Expert

Barclays has hired Adrian Radulescu to join its U.S. credit structuring team this month as a director, according to market sources.

Based in New York, the new hire will report to Jaime Aldama, head of US ABS and credit structuring.
Radulescu has worked in structured finance for over 14 years in both the U.S. and Europe. Most recently, he was an advisor to Credit Suisse on its re-entry to the European collateralized loan obligation market.

He was previously at Credit Suisse from 2000-2008 in both New York and London.

Buffone Heads Fifth Street Capital Markets Group

Frederick Buffone joined Fifth Street Management as a managing director and head of capital markets, according to a company press release.

Buffone is responsible for middle market syndications and club transactions on behalf of Fifth Street Finance and Fifth Street Senior Floating Rate, both business development companies.

He has over 20 years of experience in capital markets. Most recently, he served as director of debt capital markets & syndications at TD Securities.

Prior to that, he held similar roles at Jefferies & Company from 2004 to 2009 and CIBC World Markets from 2000 to 2004.

“Fred’s extensive background will be a tremendous asset as we expand our origination and syndication platform, particularly given the widespread demand for senior loans,” said Leonard Tannenbaum, Fifth Street’s chief executive.
