Cantor Fitzgerald continues the expansion of its global credit, high yield and distressed sales business with appointments to its debt capital markets group, including new managing directors for its trading, research and sales groups, the New York-based firm said Wednesday.
The firm hired James Mitchell as a managing director for trading. He was most recently a senior trader at UBS, where he traded loans, bonds and derivatives of European high yield and distressed credits. He previously worked at Citi in European distressed debt and structured corporate debt.
Cantor also hired Ron Consiglio, John Stelwagon and Amil Schiaffino as managing directors for research. Stelwagon joins from Apidos Capital Management, where he managed CLO portfolios.
Consiglio was most recently with Akarui Capital Partners, where he managed distressed high yield credits. And Schiaffino is a high yield and investment-grade research veteran of Schroders, Scotia Capital Markets, Paine Webber and BMO Capital Markets.
The firm also announced the addition of two new sales directors and two new sales associates. Cantor Fitzgerald added more than 125 new professionals last year and said it continues to expand its fixed income business. It now has approximately 1,400 employees.
