BlueMountain Capital Hires Credit Analysts

BlueMountain Capital Management added to its fundamental credit research team by hiring four credit research analysts.

The team is headed by head of research Scott Lessing. Agata Andrevski will head up European distressed research. Andrevski will join the firm after a period of leave from Camulos Capital, where she was senior credit analyst, with a concentration on European distressed, high yield and leveraged loans. Before joining Camulos, she was a credit analyst with Soros Fund Management.

Michael Kass was previously from 3-Sigma Value Management and has experience in both restructuring investing and advisory. Kass also held previous positions at Lehman Brothers, Miller Buckfire, and McKinsey.

Omar Vaishnavi, a U.S. distressed company specialist, was formerly at SilverPoint Capital, where his was primarily focused on healthcare after starting his career with UBS.

Vincent Cooper, who rejoins BlueMountain out of London, will focus on financials. His expertise is in the capital structures of European financial institutions. Earlier in his career, he co-authored research reports on bank Tier 1 capital instruments during his stint at Barclays Capital, where he was a sell-side analyst covering Southern European banks and insurance companies.

"BlueMountain aspires to build the leading, fundamentally-driven, cross-capital structure research team among credit-focused asset managers," Lessing said. "We relentlessly pursue distinctive insight through collaboration among analysts with deep expertise, who focus in specific industry sectors, particular research disciplines and geographies."

With these additions, the fundamental credit research team  now has 17 members. BlueMountain plans to continue expanding in both London and New York.
