Bingham McCutchen added Sarah Smith, former co-head of Sidley Austin London’s international finance group, as a partner in the London office.
Smith led Sidley Austin’s Singapore-based finance practice from 1996 to 1998. She joins Bingham after it combined with McKee Nelson in August. McKee has offices in New York and Washington D.C. that focus on structured finance, tax and financial institutions litigation.
Smith will initially focus on general finance and restructuring matters, but also brings significant experience in structured finance and securitization, and domestic and cross-border asset-based lending.
She will work closely with London partners James Roome, co-head of Bingham’s global financial restructuring group and London managing partner. She will also work with Barry Russell, leader of Bingham’s London finance practice, as well as with Bingham’s structured transactions practice group headed by Reed Auerbach, former co-managing partner of McKee Nelson.
