Barclays Capital promoted its head of European leveraged to cohead of EMEA leveraged finance, ASR sister publication Leveraged Finance News has confirmed.
Barclays appointed Michael Moravec, head of European leveraged syndicate, as cohead of EMEA leveraged finance. He joins Peder Oien as cohead.
Moravec will also still lead the firm’s European leveraged syndicate. Both are based in London. Moravec was previously based in New York with Barclays and is a veteran of Lehman Brothers.
A source familiar with the move said Moravec and Oien have worked closely together on deals and making Moravec a cohead is a formalization of the way the group is already functioning.
Barclays ranked eight both in the U.S. and globally among high yield bond underwriters for the first half of the year. It ranked sixth among loan underwriters in the U.S. and seventh globally.
