AXA Names Deborah Shire Head of Structured Finance

AXA Investment Managers has appointed Deborah Shire as head of structured finance.

Shire will take on her position Sept. 1 and will be based in Paris, France. Shire replaces Laurent Gueunier, a 12-year veteran of AXA IM, who has left the company. She will report to John Porter, global head of fixed income and structured finance.

Shire helped create Axa’s structured finance division in 2000 before moving on to work in other parts of the business. She spent 11 years in AXA IM's structured finance team becoming deputy head of the team.

She is currently global head of business development at AXA Real Estate, member of the management board of AXA Real Estate, in charge of corporate finance, investor relations, and marketing and communications.

Porter said Shire will work with the structured finance team to deliver innovative investment opportunities to clients. “She will be integral in establishing structured finance as a key component of our fixed income and alternative credit proposition, allowing us to address client needs and market opportunities across the credit continuum," he stated in a press release.
