ASF Announces Keynote Speakers for ASF 2012

The American Securitization Forum (ASF) will have California Congressman Ed Royce and Arizona Congressman David Schweikert as keynote speakers at its ASF 2012.

ASF 2012 will be held Jan. 22-25 in Las Vegas. According to the trade group, more than 4,500 people are expected to attend the event.

Royce is serving his tenth term in Congress. He is a senior member of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Capital Markets and GSEs. In 2003, he drafted legislation calling for a single regulator under the U.S. Treasury Department for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and the twelve Federal Home Loan Banks.

Schweikert is serving his first term in Congress after being Treasurer of the largest county in Arizona, Maricopa since 2004. He is also on the House Financial Services Committee and is vice chairman of the Capital Markets Subcommittee.

"We are eager to hear the Congressmen's remarks and are very pleased both of them will be joining us at ASF 2012," commented Tom Deutsch, ASF executive director. "Both have long experience with the housing market, from a local perspective as well as at the federal level. Representative Schweikert has worked one-on-one with borrowers in his district, while Representative Royce has been outspoken on the GSE's for years."
