Andrew Bellis Joins 3i Debt Mgmt as MD

3i Debt Management has hired former Credit Suisse CLO chief Andrew Bellis to head up the firm’s global growth effort, the company said.

Bellis joins 3iDM as managing director and partner reporting to Jeremy Ghose, managing partner and 3iDM CEO.

His appointment reinforces “3iDM’s ambition to grow in core and emerging markets and to play a leading role in consolidating attractive opportunities in Europe and North America,” the company said in a statement.

Bellis has more than 14 years of experience originating and structuring CLOs, most recently as global head of new issue CLOs at Credit Suisse. Previously, he held a number of senior positions at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he oversaw the establishment of a franchise that structured European CDO and CLO transactions and other leverage fund raisings.

At Credit Suisse, Brad Larson, previously in charge of U.S. new-issue CLOs, will take over as global head of CLO origination, a source familiar with the situation said. Michael Kurinets will continue to head CLO secondary trading

3iDM recently acquired seven European CLO management contracts from Invesco, bringing its assets under management to $7.5 billion in 17 funds across CLOs, private equity fund of funds, a mezzanine fund, a managed account and a credit opportunity fund.
