CDO shop Aladdin Capital Holdings started a film financing unit and a broker-dealer as part of an expansion effort outside of CDOs, according to a Bloomberg report.
Laura Fazio, who was Deutsche Bank's former global head of media and entertainment structured finance, will run the film unit, Aladdin Chief Investment Officer Neal Neilinger said.
Meanwhile, Neilinger added that Michael Gibbons joined Aladdin last week to run the brokerage arm, according to the published report. Before his new post, Gibbons was head of the special situations desk at BNP Paribas.
Neilinger was a founding partner at NSM Capital Management in Greenwich, Connecticut and joined Aladdin in October
