Goldman Sachs names BlackRock's Lynam as chief credit strategist

Bloomberg

(Bloomberg) -- Amanda Lynam, head of macro credit research at BlackRock Inc., is returning to Goldman Sachs Group Inc. after three years with the asset management firm.

She will be chief credit strategist in the Wall Street bank's global investment research group, according to a spokesperson for Goldman. Lynam is currently on gardening leave and is taking on the new role in late March, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Goldman's former chief credit strategist Lotfi Karoui departed last year after 18 years with the bank. He was also the head of credit, mortgages and structured products research.

Goldman also recently named a new chief US equity strategist. At the start of this year, Ben Snider replaced veteran David Kostin, who spent more than three decades at the investment bank and became a well-known name on Wall Street.

Lynam was previously a managing director and senior global credit strategist at Goldman Sachs. She first started working at the bank in 2005 and spent a year working for Nomura before returning to Goldman in 2016, according to LinkedIn.

She joined BlackRock in December 2022 according to her LinkedIn profile. She led a team covering global fixed income, liquid corporate credit and alternative assets within the private financing solutions group and was also a member of BlackRock's women in investments executive committee.

Lynam declined to comment on the move, as did a spokesperson for BlackRock.

The asset management giant pulled in $342 billion of total client cash in the fourth quarter, pushing the firm to a record $14 trillion of assets. Private markets revenue for the full year roughly doubled to $2.4 billion from 2024.
