Wiley Releases Second Edition of MBS Text

The second edition of Mortgage-Backed Securities: Products, Structuring, and Analytical Techniques was recently released by John Wiley & Sons

The book, which was co-authored by Frank Fabozzi, Anand Bhattacharya, and William Berliner, addresses a variety of topics important to the understanding of mortgages and MBS, specifically in light of the financial crisis that began in 2007.

“The new edition of the book addresses many of the major changes that have taken place in the MBS and financial markets since the first edition was published,” said Berliner, who is also a columnist for Asset Securitization Report.  “In particular, the way prepayment and credit behavior is understood and measured has been overturned by recent events.  We also wanted to enhance the sections on how relative value is measured and compared, which led us to write a completely new chapter on evaluating Non-Agency MBS.”

The first edition of the book, published in 2007, was named one of the top ten finance books for that year by RiskBooks. The book is available at bookstores and through John Wiley & Son’s Web site, www.wiley.com
