White Oak Commercial Finance, an affiliate of White Oak Global Advisors, continued its expansion in asset-based lending with the addition of two underwriters with backgrounds in capital and equipment finance in the small-medium enterprise space.

Sudhir Chaudhry has worked in structured finance for over 20 years with firms such as Celtic Capital Corp., Reliance Investments Inc., Guaranty Business Credit and, most recently, Ares Commercial Finance, an asset-based lending affiliate of Ares Management.

As vice president and senior underwriter for Ares Commercial, Chaudhry underwrote loans between $50 million and $500 million.

Kevin Maitland joins White Oak in Boca Raton, Fla., with over 14 years of asset-based lending and commercial banking experience. Over his career, Maitland has worked on over 350 middle-market financing transactions, primarily between $20 million and $150 million in commitments.

Maitland most recently served as vice president and senior underwriter for PNC Business Credit, and was formerly with Wells Fargo as a portfolio manager and senior ABL underwriter in equipment finance and capital finance.

"Small and medium-sized businesses across the U.S. are increasingly turning to non-bank lenders," said Robert Grbic, president and CEO of White Oak Commercial Finance.

In May the firm hired Evan Zwerman as director of ABL originations.
