Merrill Lynch has made a new addition to its London-based International ABS research team, with the hire of Xavier De Pauw as associate. Along with Ganesh Rajendra he will report to Alexander Batchvarov.

Credit Lyonnais in Hong Kong has hired Hilary Tan as an associate in the Asian Securitisation Group, where she will help group head Greg Park structure non-Japan Asia transactions. Tan previously worked at Bear Stearns in Hong Kong.

Bank of America in Hong Kong has hired Tom Chan as vice president of Asian asset securitization. Chan, who was previously at Citibank, will report to managing director Warren Lee.

Allen & Overy in Tokyo has recently hired John Jiew as an attorney in the Japan securitization group. Jiew was previously an attorney at Zaid Ibrahim, a law firm in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Zurich U.S., recently announced the expansion of its political risk operation to London. Edward Coppola will head the operation.
