U.S. Bank Global Corporate Trust Services has hired Joe Nardi to lead its global structured finance group, which provides services that support the mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities for which U.S. Bank is trustee and paying agent.

Nardi, who has more than 20 years of financial services experience, 19 of which in corporate trust, will oversee a staff of approximately 200 employees throughout six locations across the United States.

He previously served as head of capital markets structured finance for Wilmington Trust Company, where he was responsible for managing the structured finance business within the global capital markets group. Prior to his work at Wilmington, he served as vice president and head of the asset-backed securities business development group at Wells Fargo Corporate Trust Services.

“U.S. Bank’s Global Structured Finance team has experienced great success over the last several years in a challenging environment. With someone of Joe’s caliber and experience leading the team, we believe we are positioned for even greater success,” Bryan Calder, president of U.S. Bank Global Corporate Trust Services, said in a press release.

“The strong foundation Joe is inheriting has been built under the leadership of Eve Kaplan, who I have asked to take on a new strategic leadership role within U.S. Bank.”

Nardi earned an MBA in finance, and a bachelor’s degree in financial management, from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn. He is also co-chair of the Structured Finance Industry Group membership committee.
