The Chotin Group Boosts Management Team

Denver-based asset management and structured finance firm The Chotin Group Corp. hired Paul Isherwood as chief investment officer who will oversee analysis, trading and management of Chotin’s proprietary investment portfolios.

Isherwood has over 15 years of experience creating, managing and investing in structured finance products that are mostly backed by residential mortgage assets. Before Chotin, he was chief executive officer and fund manager of Winston Capital, a Denver-based hedge fund that invests in RMBS and complex, undervalued assets.

“Paul’s specialized experience in buying and selling residential mortgage-related securities and assets makes him an outstanding addition to our team,” said Steven B. Chotin, chairman and chief executive officer of The Chotin Group. “He has a keen understanding of the bond markets and has seamlessly taken the lead in managing our private portfolios to maximize value.”

Chotin holds an extensive portfolio of agency and private-label REMIC and other residual interests, as well as portfolios of distressed assets. It is focused on selectively acquiring new and existing portfolios of securities and distressed corporate entities.
