Jones Day has hired Joel Telpner as a partner in its banking and finance practice. He will be based in the New York office.
Telpner joins Jones Day from Mayer Brown where he was a specialty capital markets attorney focused on representing financial institutions, derivative dealers, investment banks, private investment funds and end users in designing, structuring and negotiating complex structured finance and derivative transactions.
“Meeting the needs of clients in this changing economy requires a unique law firm, with the deepest bench of knowledge, experience, business savvy and geographic reach,” said Telpner in regards to the move. He will provide strategic advice to clients on restructuring, repackaging, risk management, and regulatory concerns in connection with the current credit crisis.
