Timothy Ng and Mark Hong have joined the investment consulting arm of Clearbrook Global Advisors.
Ng joins as managing director and head of research. In his new position, Ng will have oversight of all aspects of the firm's research process and will play a key role in building the Clearbrook Research team and defining best practices. He is the former president and chief investment officer of Structured Investment Group (SIG).
Hong joined Clearbrook as a director and has assumed a leading role in the Clearbrook research process. Although he will focus on all asset classes, he will have an integral role in the research and allocation of alternative investments. He was formerly a co-founder and principal of SIG.
SIG was formed in 2002 to manage and advise hedge fund investments on behalf of institutions and family offices. Since then, the firm has launched structured products and multi- and single-strategy hedge fund of funds and currently advise on around $2 billion of assets.
"This new team has experience with dynamic asset allocation across hedge fund strategies, due diligence, portfolio and risk management, and monitoring of manager performance," Elliott Wislar, president and managing principal at Clearbook said. "They are well versed in hedge funds, private equity, senior secured and mezzanine debt financing, structured products, commercial finance and investment banking. We are extremely pleased that Tim and Mark are joining the Clearbrook family and believe they will be instrumental in helping us build our franchise."
"We are very excited about joining this rapidly growing, entrepreneurial firm," Ng said. "Mark and I believe we have a lot to offer and feel that we can help leverage Clearbrook's established platform to provide pro-active consulting and investment services to the firm's clientele. Clearbrook has strong groups of seasoned consulting and investment professionals, serving a multitude of institutional and high net worth investors. The combined expertise in long only and alternative investments between the two firms will put us in a unique position to offer innovative and customized solutions involving multiple asset classes. We believe Clearbrook will be able to provide attractive offerings to clients and prospects who are increasingly, seeking solutions across equities, fixed income, private equity and hedge funds."
