Standard Life Investments appointed Michael Geier as investment director of Germany and Austria in its European business development team.
He will report to Phil Barker, head of European business development.
Geier will be responsible for developing business relationships with wholesale and institutional organizations in Germany and Austria. Based in Frankfurt. Geier has around 18 years experience of working within this region and his local knowledge will help the firm offer existing and prospective clients with the appropriate level of before and after sales support.
“In the first half of 2009 we have been successful in winning business from institutional clients and through third party distribution networks and platform agreements in continental Europe,” Barker said. “Geier’s appointment will help bring even greater focus to the German and Austrian markets.”
Geier was previously managing director with ABN AMRO’s asset management team based in Germany.
