SFIG Launching Women in Securitization at ABS Vegas 2015

Wendy Cohn, managing director of Fitch Ratings, and Patricia Evans, vice president of Wilmington Trust will co-chair the Structured Finance Industry Group’s (SFIG) “Women in Securitization Initiative,” the trade group announced.

The initiative is open to both members and non-members; it wil be launched on February 8 at its annual conference, ABS Vegas 2015.

The program will provide a means of connecting women in structured finance to peers, mentors, sponsorship, education initiatives, events and social opportunities that will help retain top female executives as well as attract female talent to enter the securitization field.

“This initiative is important to our entire industry, which is one of the many reasons that SFIG has decided to open it up not only to its members, but all professionals in securitization,” said Cohn in the press release. “The decision to make this event a key part of ABS Vegas 2015 is an important vote of confidence from SFIG and a phenomenal way to kick-off this initiative.”

ABS Vegas will take place from February 8 to 11 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Aria Resort & Casino. The event is expected to draw around 6,000 industry participants, according to the press release.
