Citi's U.S. head of banking and origination for securitized products, Gerald Keefe, has been appointed the new corporate bank head of Citibank Japan Ltd., effective Jan. 1, 2014.
Keefe will head the corporate banking division of CJL and join the management committee as an executive officer, according to a person familiar with the move. He will replace Katsuhisa Ishikawa, the acting head of CJL’s corporate banking division.
He will report locally to Kazuya Jono, President & CEO of CJL and globally to Michael Roberts, CEO at Citigroup.
Keefe joined Citi in 2006 and became a managing director in 2009. In 2010, he was appointed to his current role as head of banking and origination for Citi’s securitized products business in the U.S.
Prior to joining Citi, Keefe was a partner in Dechert LLP’s structured finance practice.
