Privately held financial services firm Sabal Financial Group hired Mark Foster as general counsel.
Foster will be focusing on strategic corporate and legal issues regarding real estate transactions such as acquisition, management and disposition of assets and alternatives for distressed loans. He will manage all litigation matters related to loans and assets and identify areas of risk as well as opportunity.
He brings 15 years of experience to the new position. His commercial real estate background includes active involvement in acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, entitlements, real estate licensing and title insurance issues.
He has represented both traditional lenders, life insurance companies, and commercial lenders active in CMBS.
Previously, Foster was vice president and senior counsel at The Rockefeller Group, where he was focused on negotiating and finalizing transactions related to the company's development, management and ownership operations.
Before that, Foster served as regional general counsel at U.S. biggest luxury home builder Toll Brothers where he managed legal issues related to the development, land acquisitions, purchase contracts, joint ventures and land banking deals.
Foster was also previously a real estate attorney with Allen, Matkins, Leck, Gamble and Mallory.
