RMG Hires MD for Due Diligence Operations

Bill Twombly has joined the Risk Management Group (RMG) team as the managing director of RMG’s due diligence practice. He replaces Dante Jackson who has moved on to pursue other opportunities.

As managing director, Twombly will be responsible for assisting in setting the strategic direction for the practice. He will also be responsible for overseeing RMG’s Phoenix operations center.

Twombly has more than 25 years of experience in the real estate and mortgage finance industry, mostly in due diligence, risk mitigation and transaction management. He was most recently at UBS, where he was head of due diligence and was chair of both the credit-compliance and seller-servicer committees. 

In terms of securitization, he has been involved in the upfront due diligence and risk mitigation for both investor and third-party securitizations. He has provided insight to investors regarding the due diligence process. He has done oversight of the review process for loans slated for security pool and has worked with counterparties to finalize pools from a credit review perspective.

Additionally, Twombly has worked at different investment banks including Deutsche Bank and Paine Webber, Kidder Peabody

During his time at UBS, he played a significant role in the development of the bank's automated underwriting engine, the development and update of underwriting guidelines as well as the establishment of the U.K. mortgage trading desks credit and risk mitigation process and policy.

Aside from his time at the investment banks, the new hire has also had different roles at various due diligence service providers.
