Richard Hill will head CMBS and commercial real estate research at Morgan Stanley. The move follows his departure from the Royal Bank of Scotland in May, a person at the bank confirmed.
Hill has over 10-years of structured finance experience with a focus on CMBS as well as CLOs, CDOs and Derivatives. At RBS he was a director of CLO & CMBS Strategy. In this role he focused on cross sector relative value between CLOs, CMBS and corporate bonds in both the primary and secondary markets.
He began his career at Banc of America Securities. From 2004 to 2008 he was a vice president in the structured securities group where he managed a deal team responsible for the origination and structuring of CDOs. From 2001 to 2004 he was an associate in the interest rate derivatives group.
