RBC Appoints Rates and Mortgage Trading Head

RBC Capital Markets appointed Peter Hirsch as managing director and head of U.S. dollar rates and mortgage trading. The new appointee's, who will be based in New York, focus includes coverage of governments, agencies, agency mortgages and derivatives.

Hirsch has worked in financial services for over 25 years. He was previously from Standard Chartered Bank where he was head of G-10 and emerging markets rates trading in the Americas.

Before returning to the sell side, Hirsch was the CIO of Archeus Capital Management, a multi-strategy hedge fund. Previously, he worked at Citigroup as global co-head of interest rate trading, credit derivatives trading and sales, and at Salomon Brothers as head of U.S. interest rate trading.
