PIMCO Expands Portfolio Analytics Platform with New Hires

PIMCO has boosted its portfolio management analytics team by appointing three new investment professionals in its New York and London offices.

Vasant Naik joins as executive vice president and global head of empirical research, based in the London office. Before PIMCO, he was managing director and head of quantitative strategies group, fixed-income research at Nomura International. Previously, he was with Lehman Brothers.

Stefano Risa joins the firm as executive vice president and head of MBS and ABS analytics. He is based in the New York office. Prior to PIMCO in 2011, he was with C12 Capital and Andrew Davidson & Co. From 2000 to 2008, Risa was at Lehman, where he covered commercial, non-agency and agency mortgage modeling before heading the structured product quantitative research group.

Riccardo Rebonato also joins PIMCO as an executive vice president and head of rates and foreign exchange analytics. He is based in the London office. Previously, he was head of front office risk management and head of quantitative research at RBS Global Banking & Markets. Prior to that, he was head of complex trading and derivatives research at Barclays Capital.

Rebonato is also on the board of directors of the International Swaps and Derivatives Associations (ISDA) and is a member of the nominating committee.

All of the new hires will report to Ravi Mattu, managing director and head of analytics at PIMCO.

According to the firm's release, the new hires are part of the firm's ongoing build-out of its portfolio analytics platform, which now comprises 46 professionals located in its Newport Beach, London, and New York offices.
