NewOak Appoints Mortgage Credit Vet Stewart

Maureen Stewart joined NewOak Capital as managing director of mortgage credit and compliance services, where she will help establish an “integrated, expert-driven mortgage credit advisory services platform.”  

“Our intention is to deploy the next generation of credit review and monitoring processes, which means having the senior credit expertise, backed by the right technology and the mechanism to manage a robust risk monitoring of the process," Stewart said to ASR. "This can obviously be positioned to help clients with legacy RMBS collateral review however it will also help origination under new regulatory and transparency paradigms.”

Stewart was previously senior audit manager for Bank of America (BofA), where she was responsible for managing teams of underwriters in multiple locations and reviewing loans. She has over thirty years of experience at major banking institutions. 

Throughout her career, she has dealt with many consumer mortgage loans products, including credit underwriting and review, quality control, credit policy management, vendor oversight, acquisition due diligence, distressed asset review, repurchase review/defense and strategic planning.
