NewOak Capital appointed Rachel Gould as general counsel and managing director at the firm.
Aside from her responsibilities as general counsel for the firm as a whole, Gould will help the expansion and marketing of NewOak Capital’s solutions and advisory platform, which offers analytical and portfolio construction services to institutional investors and managers.
Gould has 12 years of experience, majority of which was spent at national law firms representing financial institutions in the structuring and closing of mortgage loan transactions for securitization. She has also focused on the acquisition, disposition, restructuring, workout and foreclosure of loans.
She is an expert in representing financial institutions and other deal participants in construction, permanent, acquisition and bridge financings, mezzanine loans, equity funding, syndicated facilities as well as other structured finance transactions, including project finance matters.
Before NewOak, the new hire was an attorney with Eckert Seamans in Boston where she focused on the representation of banks, investors, hedge funds, investment banking institutions, businesses, developers, landlords, tenants and individual property owners in all areas of financial and commercial real estate transactions. She also served as outside general counsel to a number of privately held businesses.
“Rachel’s legal and financial expertise, combined with her client-focused approach, are in line with our focus on delivering value-added solutions, restructuring and advisory services to the financial institutions globally,” says Ron D’Vari, CEO and co-founder at the company.
"We're very excited to have Rachel join the NewOak team and take a leadership position as our General Counsel,” says James Frischling, president and co-founder at NewOak. “Rachel’s diverse skill-set and background will help us expand the reach and breadth of our financial advisory services.”
“As our business is rapidly expanding, we are appreciative of Rachel’s well-honed marketing and business skills to help us move forward in this fast moving environment," said Chad Burhance, head of solutions for NewOak Capital and member of the executive committee.
Based in Manhattan, NewOak Capital is an advisory, asset management and capital markets and a service provider to global institutions.
