Newedge Announces Senior Appointments

Global multi-asset brokerage and clearinghouse Newedge appointed two senior hires based in its New York office.

John Fay has been named global head of the firm's fixed-income, currencies and commodities (FICC) business line. He has been acting head of FICC since October 2010, while also serving in a dual role as head of the Americas region.

Fay joined Newedge in December 2009 after serving as co-CEO and co-president of Instinet. He also previously held senior level positions with Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.

Bill Sexton has joined the firm in New York as head of the Americas Region, taking over Fay's previous permanent role. He will also serve as chief executive officer for Newedge USA.

Sexton was previously with Erris Capital Advisors where he served as president. He has an extensive financial industry background including positions with Refco, NYBOT/NYCE, Chase, Spear Leads & Kellogg, and Daiwa Securities.
