Moody's Investors Service will be launching monthly updated performance indices for all major
ABS and RMBS European markets.
The goal is to provide investors with timely information about the performance of the underlying collateral of ABS and RMBS deals.
Monthly indices will offer market participants access to frequently updated performance snapshots as well as provide further transparency on the performance of public term transactions through benchmarking.
The redesign is part of an ongoing effort by the rating firm to give the industry timely insight into credit implications affecting the European ABS and RMBS markets.
"Investors want to receive regular and timely information they can use regarding collateral performance to understand what will happen next," said Marie-Jeanne Kerschkamp, a Moody's team managing director.
Moody's indices are standardized and designed to aid investors in their monitoring efforts. The underlying portfolios' key performance indicators are aggregated into indices and tracked on a monthly basis along with macro-economic developments.
The rating agency'sindices are published in MS Excel format mid-month for the following segments: U.K. nonconforming RMBS, U.K. prime RMBS, Dutch RMBS, Spanish RMBS, Italian RMBS, EMEA auto loan and EMEA consumer loan.
