Miramax Plans Film Rights Securitization

Miramax Film said it plans to refinance outstanding debt with a film rights and contracted receivables ABS.

The Miramax Film-Library Securitization is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2011.

The notes to be issued under the new securitization facility will be offered and sold to buyers in the U.S. via the 144A market. It is also being marketed to investors outside the U.S.

Miramax has a film library of more than 700 motion pictures. The company had two new releases last summer: The Debt, starring Helen Mirren and Sam Worthington, and the Guillermo del Toro-produced Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, starring Katie Holmes and Guy Pearce.
