Jefferies & Co. hired Mark Plansky as a managing director and head of its MBS/ABS/CMBS group in Boston.
Based in Boston, Plansky will lead the firm’s MBS/ABS/CMBS team, focusing on serving Jefferies’ Northeastern clients in this sector.
Plansky joins the firm from Barclays, where he worked for eight years and was most recently a managing director focused on MBS sales.
Before Barclays, Plansky was a managing director at Lehman Brothers, where he was part of the MBS sales team. Prior to this, he worked at Paine Webber, and started his career at First Albany.
This announcement follows the addition of Lisa Pendergast earlier this month as head of CMBS strategy and risk, as well as the addition of Marc DeFife in June as head of the MBS/ABS/CMBS group in Chicago.
The firms’ total MBS/ABS/CMBS group now has more than 60 sales, trading and origination professionals in the U.S. and London.
