Lawrence Schechter has joined Incapital, an underwriter and distributor of fixed-income, equity and equity hybrid securities, as managing director of capital markets.
In his new role at the Chicago-based firm, Schechter will be responsible for spearheading efforts in the structuring and distribution of private placement, securitizations, origination, leasing and project finance. He joins Incapital from London-based Schechter & Co. Limited where as managing director and partner he oversaw all aspects of debt finance, equity-linked finance, lease finance and financial and strategic advice. More specifically, he had oversight of cross border debt and lease financings, as well as U.K. domestic debt placements and leasing.
While at Schechter & Co., he is credited with helping to facilitate the first-ever private placement out of the Republic of Cyprus, and placed several billion dollars, pounds, and euros of cross-border debt and lease financings across various sectors.Earlier in his career, Schechter
In a Sept. 3 statement, Chris O’Connor, head of capital markets at Incapital, said that Schechter “brings extensive experience and expertise in private placements and other debt financing” to the firm.
“Larry complements our talented Capital Markets team and will enable Incapital to offer a widening range of debt financing solutions to our clients,” he said.
