Greek Bank Closes €3.5 Bln in New Loan Securitizations

Greek Bank Piraeus Bank Group completed three new loan securitizations totaling €3.5 billion ($4.9 billion).

The bank closed two additional securitizations in 2Q09 with a total issue size of €1.6 billion, bringing the total issuance year-to-date to €5.1 billion.

The bank closed its first leasing securitization on Aug. 14. UBS Investment Bank was the arranger of the issue.  On the same day, the bank's second consumer loan securitization was concluded with a total issue size of €558 million. Morgan Stanley was lead arranger on the deal.

The bank closed its third business loan securitization on Aug. 17 with a total issue size of €2.4 billion. Citigroup Global Markets was named as lead arranger of the issue.  

The Class A notes of all the above securitizations are eligible collateral for European Central Bank refinancing purposes.
