GoldenTree Adds Managing Director

GoldenTree Asset Management hired Brian Marshall as managing director for the firm’s business development group, the firm said.

Marshall is based at GoldenTree’s New York headquarters and reports to Thomas Humphrey, partner and head of business development.

Marshall was most recently a managing director with Barclays focused on structured credit products. He helped put together structured finance transactions and restructuring efforts.

He was responsible for credit and mortgage products including CLOs, leveraged loans, asset-backed securities and structured finance CDOs backed by RMBS and commercial real estate. He had previously served with Lehman Brothers, where he began as an analyst and was eventually managing director and head of structured credit sales in North America.

Humphrey said in a statement that Marshall’s addition to the group demonstrates its commitment to growing its leveraged finance and structured credit businesses.

GoldenTree is an asset manager specializing in corporate and structured credit. It manages approximately $18 billion in assets and has its primary offices in New York and London. It is 100% employee owned and has 190 employees with 45 investment professionals.
