As previously reported by ASR, Rusty Hurst joined Banc One's Structured Debt Research Group as a Director and Senior Analyst this Monday, the company confirmed (See ASR 3/04/02, Whispers). Hurst will be based in Chicago and will focus his research on the CDO sector.
Hurst recently left his position as a researcher at Wachovia Securities in Charlotte, N.C., which he had held for just over two years.
He is the first senior analyst hired by the Banc One structured finance research group in almost five years, says Alex Roever, Banc One managing director and head of structured debt research, to whom Hurst will report. Roever, in turn reports to Dana Johnson, managing director and head of research for the bank.
"Rusty joins a strong and well-established research group that includes myself, as well as Directors & Senior Analysts John McElravey and Alessandro Pagani, who are ABS generalists, and Glenn Schultz, who specializes in Prepayment Analysis," said Roever. "Rusty is also an experienced ABS analyst and may occasionally help out in ABS Research.
"We are all supported by a talented group of Associates that includes Jeff Haleen, Lise-Lotte Janson, Chris Muth and Jeff Brosowski," he added.
