Fannie Mae Appoints General Counsel

Fannie Mae has appointed Bradley Lerman as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary effective Oct. 1, according to a press release from the GSE.

Lerman joins the agency from Pfizer where he was senior vice president, associate general counsel and chief litigation counsel, today's release said.

Lerman has more than 25 years of legal experience At Pfizer, he lead the firm’s product and commercial litigation, government investigations, and patent litigation teams.  He also focused on Pfizer's Discovery Response Team, civil and criminal justice reform program, and the Pfizer Legal Alliance program.

Before Pfizer, Lerman was a partner at Winston & Strawn and co-chair of the firm's white collar defense practice group. He focused on white collar defense, product liability and securities litigation matters.  The new hire was also previously an assistant U.S. attorney in the Northern District of Illinois from 1986 to 1994 and had various supervisory positions in the white collar prosecution divisions.
