Deutsche Boosts Aviation Research Team

Deutsche Bank Securities hired Douglas Runte as a managing director and head of aviation debt research within its markets division.

Runte, who will be based in New York, has over 20 years of experience in fixed income research, most recently as a managing director and senior aviation analyst at Piper Jaffray. He was formerly from Morgan Stanley, where he was the senior analyst for both debt and equity for North American airlines and aircraft ABS.

The new hire will report to Steve Abrahams, managing director and head of securitization and MBS research. In this new position, he will cover the transportation sector, focusing on airline, aircraft lessor and other aircraft-related debt across the ABS, investment-grade, and high-yield markets.

“Doug is one of the top debt analysts in the transportation sector, and we’re delighted to welcome him,” Abrahams said. “His significant knowledge of the airline industry and strong record of providing actionable market ideas will further enhance our industry-leading research platform.”
