Jeannie Lewis and Bryan Morris will join Deloitte & Touche's asset management services governance, risk and regulatory practice. April Lemay, principal at the company, will head up the team.
She has over 14 years of financial services experience and will lead the asset management services' efforts in external audit, internal audit, valuation and securitization, risk and regulatory, financial accounting and reporting, security and privacy, internal controls, finance transformation, and operations and technology.
Lemay began her career with Deloitte in 1996. She then became a principal of Deloitte in 2007 where she specialized in operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and internal control consulting services. Her client work includes risk-based control and compliance due diligence reviews, design and implementation of processes and technologies to support operational and regulatory requirements, and developing damage theories and algorithms to quantify the impact of known or suspected errors or fraud.
Lewis has over 20 years regulatory experience to her role where she will offer regulatory, compliance, risk management, litigation support and business advisory services to Deloitte's traditional advisory clients, investment companies, fund of funds, financial intermediaries, service providers, and private funds.
Lewis was previously from Driehaus Capital Management, where was assistant general counsel from 2007 until 2010. She was with the Chicago office of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in various capacities from 1988 until 2007. Her different supervisory positions include associate regional director for the inspection management examination program and assistant regional director in the enforcement division.
Morris brings over 12 years' industry experience. As a partner at Deloitte, she will be based in Washington, D.C. and has a leadership role within the asset management services practice for the Southeast region. The new hire provides both audit and regulatory compliance assistance to Deloitte's asset management clients in the region.
Morris was also previously at the SEC where he was a professional accounting fellow in the office of the chief accountant, division of investment management since 2007.
