Richard Jones, partner and co-chair of Dechert's finance and real estate practice, recently launched a blog that will provide critical commentary on the credit market and commercial real estate meltdown. The blog, called the Credit Cruncher, can be accessed at http://www.crunchedcredit.com.
Credit Cruncher will focus on legislative and regulatory activity, significant market events and innovations.
Matthew Clark, Matthew Ginsburg and Stewart McQueen, three of Jones’ associates, will assist him on the blog.
“Dealing with the detritus of the Great Recession and trying to find ways to re-start robust capital formation in the shoals of the greatest credit meltdown in our time is hard enough. Washington seems intent on making it harder,” Jones said . “I’ll be watching for those self-inflicted wounds. In the meantime, we’ll try to pick out trends and flag innovative industry responses to our ongoing Alice in Wonderland experience.”
Jones received this year’s Commercial Mortgage Securities Association's (CMSA) Founders Award for his role in building CMSA's governmental relations capacity. He received the Distinguished Service Award from the Mortgage Bankers Association in 2009.
