CREFC Names Paul Vanderslice President

CRE Finance Council (CREFC) has selected of Paul Vanderslice as its president for the 2012-2013 term.

The new appointee succeeds Jack Cohen, chief executive officer of Cohen Financial, who was president of the commercial real estate trade group for the past 12 months.

Vanderslice is a managing director at Citigroup Global Markets, where he is co-head of the U.S. CMBS group and head of its commercial mortgage distribution efforts. He has been at Citigroup or its predecessor entities since 1984.

“I am pleased to serve as CREFC’s president,” Vanderslice said. “CREFC provides the commercial real estate finance industry with the platform for connecting and addressing the top issues facing the industry.  I'm looking forward to facilitating involvement from all industry participants in the development of policies and practices that will bring about strong and healthy CRE finance markets.”

CREFC’s membership comprises over 225 firms and 5,500 individuals from throughout the $3.1 trillion commercial real estate finance industry.  These companies include commercial banks, insurance companies, private equity funds, mortgage REITs, investment grade and B-piece buyers, servicers and rating agencies, among others.
