Carrington Mortgage to Issue First GNMA Security

Irvine, Calif-based Carrington Mortgage Services some time this month is expected to issue its first GNMA security, one company official told ASR sister publication National Mortgage News recently. Carrington is a fast growing retail/wholesale lender.

The company also this week hired Rick Sharga of RealtyTrac.  Sharga will serve as executive vice president in charge of branding and marketing.

In a statement the privately held Carrington, a nonbank, said Sharga will service as the firm's “primary industry spokesman.”

RealtyTrac, the company that Sharga left, publishes one of the nation's largest databases of foreclosure and bank-owned properties.

Carrington's wholesale division employs roughly 30 account executives, triple of what it had two months ago.

Carrington Mortgage was founded by former Citigroup executive Bruce Rose. The lender is owned by a hedge fund that carries the Carrington name.
