BTIG Boosts High-Yield/Distressed Analytics Group

BTIG has expanded its high yield and distressed desk analytics group by hiring Elie Radinsky and Mark Palmer.

Radinsky joins BTIG as managing director and head of high yield and distressed analytics. Meanwhile, Palmer joins BTIG as a managing directorin the same group. 

Both are part of a team of professionals on BTIG’s fixed-income desk that cover various sectors such as structured products, health care, chemicals, paper and packaging, banks and finance, energy, autos, retail, and reorg. equity.

Radinsky has over 20 years of industry experience and joins BTIG from Chapdelaine Credit Partners, where he was the head of high yield and distressed desk analysts. Before this, he was head of high yield and equity arbitrage research at Summit Securities Group, where he developed proprietary trading ideas and provided sector insight.

He was also previously a partner and portfolio manager at Brigade Capital Management, a multi-strategy hedge fund. He started his career covering the healthcare sector and held positions at Jefferies and Citigroup.

Palmer has 13 years of experience and joins BTIG from Prudence Holdings, a family office, where he served as portfolio manager. 

Before Prudence, Palmer was a portfolio manager for Resurgence Asset Management and Highbridge Capital Management. He was formerly at BlackRock, AIG Global Investment Group and BNY Capital Markets as a high yield and distressed debt analyst. Palmer began his financial services career in leveraged finance at Bank of America.

BTIG’s high yield and Distressed Desk, which is led by Robert Langer, was launched in March 2009 to complement the firm’s equities, fixed-income and prime brokerage offerings. The desk forms part of BTIG’s fixed-income group.
