Bond Manager Deer Park Adds Investment Expertise

Deer Park Road Corp., a distressed mortgage and ABS  fixed-income securities manager, has strengthened its portfolio management team as the firm’s assets continue to grow, it announced in a July 20 statement.

The Steamboat Springs, Colo.-based firm has hired Hao Li as a research analyst to focus on risk management and analytics. He will support Michael Craig-Sheckman and Scott Burg, who are research managers at the firm.

Before joining Deer Park Road, Li worked at global firm JPMorgan where he assisted on a $1 billion non-agency MBS portfolio and a $3 billion consumer ABS portfolio.

Additionally, he has held positions at New York-based Millennium Partners, where he researched and traded non-agency residential MBS, and at HSBC in China, where he was a fixed-income trader.

In the statement, Deer Park Road also announced the June 2011 hire of Amy Charity, who has signed on as an investor relations manager.

“I have always believed that it is critical to stay ahead of the curve when operating any business,” Craig-Scheckman, who is also president at the firm, said in the press release. “As assets under management of the firm continue to grow, we continue to do just that.”

Deer Park Road offers its services to institutional investors, pension funds, endowments, foundations and high-net-worth individuals.
