BNP Paribas Corporate and Investment Banking appointed Patti Carlo and Sherif Elias to its fixed income group.
Carlo joins the group as managing director covering mortgage institutions and banks for mortgage and interest rate derivatives and Elias joins as a director in U.S. interest rate sales. The appointments will bolster the growth of the group in its interest rates business.
Carlo reports to Avi Pemper, head of structured products and derivatives marketing for fixed income. Before joining BNP, Carlo was in the mortgage sales group at Merrill Lynch/Bank of America. Prior to that, she was a senior managing director in the rates sales group at Bear Stearns, and in the investor derivatives marketing group at JP Morgan.
Sherif will work under Mallory Brooks, head of interest rate sales for the Americas. He joins BNP from a principal position at Vertical Capital, where he has spent the past year providing structured product consultancy to institutional accounts and registered investment advisors. Before that, he worked in interest rate sales at Wachovia, Bank of America, and Morgan Stanley.
