Liz Padova Hanson joined Barclays Capital as a managing director in the asset securitization origination business in the Americas.
Hanson is based in New York and reports to Giuseppe Pagano, who oversees the credit card, student loan and covered bond sectors of the bank's ABS platform. She will lead Barclays Capital’s coverage of credit card issuers.
She strengthens Barclays' existing coverage of credit card clients and bolsters its position as a leader in the U.S. covered bond market. She will partner closely with Ben Colice, who still leads the firm's covered bond origination effort in the Americas.
Hanson has over 10 years experience covering major credit card issuers following tenures as a senior ABS coverage banker at RBS Capital and ABN Amro.
Hanson has focused on developing a covered bond structure for U.S. issuers to access the covered bond market. She has helped to form the U.S. Covered Bond Council and faciliated partnerships between the dealer and buy-side communities with key U.S. regulators to establish the necessary infrastructure to support the market.
